A FREE ALBUM?
As with the EP, we have decided to make this debut album a free download. Why have we chosen to pour our blood, sweat, tears and money into something that we then simply give you?
There are a number of reasons:
1. We felt good about the viral distribution manifesto that came with the "Mutate & Survive" EP, which you can obtain here:

The terms and conditions for free usage of the EP should be considered to apply also to this album.
2. The Process is The Point. Our goal is the journey. The Point is, simply, for us to be Xykogen. This will obviously create historical records of The Process from time to time, but these are not the goal of the band.
3. An important part of The Process is for us to be able to be Xykogen in front of new audiences in new places. As a result we want to invert the standard practice of playing gigs to sell product and instead make the product free as a way of encouraging gig bookings.
So. There you are. A free album.
If you find that you like the album, and would like to encourage us to keep releasing material in the manner we currently are, then there are nice things that you can do for us in return.
1. Distribute copies of the album freely and widely as per the "Mutate & Survive" manifesto above.
2. Create an opportunity for us to play a gig local to yourself - either as a promoter yourself or by spreading the album to a local promoter and convincing them that there will be an audience for us to play to.
3. Purchase one of the limited edition physical albums that will be released by us in January 2007 and luxuriate in the extra tracks and content contained within.
4. Use that nice little PayPal button on the website to send us money anyway. We're "The Man" really, we were just joking earlier.
At worst, you'll help us buy the beers we drink at rehearsal. At best you'll be helping us fund The Process getting that little bit more widescreen, and increasing the frequency and quality of any historical documents The Process creates. Helping us underwrite transport cost to gigs - and the further from London UK you live, the more useful this will be in helping us play near you. Helping us work with relevant producers / remixers. Producing Visual Content. Creating Virtual Clubs to perform in. Staging Xykogen on Ice Winter Spectaculars.
The maths on this bit is fairly easy. If you were to send us £3 then that would compare favourably to what we might receive (if we were lucky) if you went into your local vendor of audio wares and purchased a copy. Anything above that would be an act of great kindness upon your part. Or, give us nothing and enjoy the album with our compliments. It's entirely your choice.
