IS THIS EP REALLY FREELY DISTRIBUTABLE?
This EP is designed for Viral Distribution and, yes, is entirely free, subject to the following not unreasonable demands.
All music remains (P) and (C) Xykogen 2005 and must not be credited in any other way.
Your "payment" to us in exchange for the EP you have been given for free is to create a number of extra copies at the same time as you create one for yourself. This should be using the original music and artwork from this site where possible, where this is not for some reason possible, the only requirement is that all physical copies you generate must include the following text clearly visible on the disc itself:
"IF YOU DID NOT ENJOY THIS EP THEN PLEASE PASS IT ON TO A FRIEND
IF YOU DID ENJOY THIS EP THEN PLEASE MAKE COPIES FOR FRIENDS. MASTER COPIES AND A NOTE ON WHY WE ARE DOING THIS IS AVAILABLE AT www.XYKOGEN.COM"
We don't think that is too much to ask in exchange for giving you music for free.

WHAT TO DO WITH EXTRA COPIES
We would ideally like you to create a minimum of 3 copies of the EP beyond the one you keep for yourself. One of these is to be given to a friend. One of these is to be handed to a DJ at your favourite local club. And one of these is to be droplifted. You are of course free to create as many copies as you like and distribute as above. The only restriction of any sort is that there must be no cost to the recipient - they must be handed over by you in goodwill and free of charge. The only personal profit you can make from this transaction must be indirect - money saved on buying that person a present, sexual favours granted due to your obvious good taste in music etc.

OK. GO ON THEN. WHAT'S DROPLIFTING?
Basically, it`s Shoplifting in reverse. We`d like you to go into a store that sells CDs and, well, introduce a Xykogen CD to the racks. This will potentially allow you to introduce random strangers to Xykogen, which is always fun, but most importantly it will potentially create all manner of hilarious confusion should someone actually then attempt to purchase an item that the store does not have on their computer system. Location is up to you. You may file under X. You may file in the Industrial section, should there be such a thing. You may, for all we care, file it in the Country & Western section.
If you find the concept of Droplifting to be daunting then please feel free to Droplift Lite and leave a few copies in places that give out free magazines, flyers etc. Leave it with your tip in your favourite restaurant. Hand some copies to a homeless person selling papers to give out as an added incentive to buy their wares. Basically, be creative.

DIRTY FILTHY PIRATE BEHAVIOUR
To no-ones surprise we have no objection to your sharing of the EP on filesharing programs. We do however ask that you also include this text on viral distribution in it's entirety as a text file whilst doing so.
Should you be one of those bad and wrong people who are prone to sharing material with a less easygoing attitude to copyright over such networks, then we must of course point out that such behaviours fund terrorism, give you cancer, and make baby Jesus cry. You will burn forever in the circle of hell reserved for those who have pissed the RIAA off and we urge you with all earnestness to rethink your sinful ways. However, if nothing we can possibly say will make a blind difference to your wicked behaviours, we point out that any bollocking you receive for your illicit activity, in this life or the next, will be no more severe if you were to slip a couple of Xykogen tracks randomly into another artists folder as a nice surprise for anyone to download it.
